Statement on the Flooding in Italy

Dear camp participants,

It deeply pains us to have to report another natural disaster in Italy. With great sorrow, we inform you that the Emilia-Romagna region is heavily affected by floods due to persistent rainfall. The impacts are devastating, numerous areas are under water, and communities are cut off from the outside world. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families who have to endure unimaginable hardships and experience one tragedy after another.

We would like to address your concerns that you might have about our camps in Italy, especially in the Emilia-Romagna region. We would like to assure you that we are in constant contact with our partners and friends on site and are carefully monitoring the situation. They have given us reassuring updates and have reported that there are currently no or only minor disruptions at the camp in Cervia. The safety and well-being of our participants are our top priority.

This week, the CEV is hosting an international tournament on the courts that we will use for our camps. All players have arrived in the last few days and are currently practicing without any issues. This gives us a lot of confidence that everything is alright and sends a positive signal about the safety of this place.

We understand that the current circumstances may cause concerns about vacationing in a region that is grappling with challenges. However, it is important to realize that the livelihood of many locals depends on tourism. By continuing our camps, we can contribute to the recovery of the community and provide support where it is most urgently needed. Together, we can make a positive impact and bring a spark of hope to those facing adversity.

We appreciate your understanding and your willingness to join us on this significant journey. Let's come together, enjoy the beautiful sport, and create unforgettable memories in a region that needs our support now more than ever.
