Beach Camp Crete 2024

Some say it is the best-kept secret in Crete. On the beach of the town of Plakias in the south of the island with a population of 300, we set up our courts in a small bay at the end of the beach. Surrounded by mountain ranges, the azure blue sea and with the small, cozy beach bar right behind us, we enjoy Greece's beach volleyball paradise.

During the day, we enjoy the most beautiful sport in the world, experience a phenomenal sunset when the sun sinks into the sea right in front of us in the afternoon, and then stroll into the cozy taverns of the fishing village with our friends to spend a pleasant evening there.

Our accommodation is less than a 5-minute walk from our pitches on the beach. Whether it's a studio or a vacation apartment, you can stay in the residences alone, with your friends or family.

Our beach volleyball camp's courts are reserved exclusively for all Volleytours guests. You can play with your friends all day. Of course, we have also thought of the balls, which we provide free of charge.

In addition you will receive up to five beach volleyball training sessions with other players of the same level. A total of 10 hours with your own coaches, balls, fun and great action included. Of course, you can also train with your partner or friends.

Several times a week, our beach volleyball camp in Crete heats up. On Sunday afternoons, we play a welcome tournament for everyone who has arrived. This is the best way to get to know the other participants. The final tournament of the week is on Friday. The goal is to play as much as possible in each tournament. That's why we usually decide on the format shortly before the games start, depending on how many people have signed up.

And the beach sessions are far from over. A sundowner in a cool atmosphere next to the seats at the bar. Afterwards, we'll have dinner together in the "town" of Plakias or in the neighboring bay. Maybe we'll meet up for a BBQ in the evening or chill out on the beach in the neighboring bay.

During the week, we also go on an excursion together. There we will explore some of the beautiful places around Plakias with you.

Relax at the beach bar during your break, jump into the sea or indulge in a little culture. Join in with our organized events from quizzes at the beach bar to scavenger hunts, grab the best sightseeing tips or simply relax on a sun lounger. You decide what your camp looks like.

Your arrival is planned for Saturday or Sunday. On Sunday afternoon we start with a social tournament at 5 pm for all guests who have already arrived. In the evening, we meet for a welcome drink and provide you with all the information you need for the week ahead.

From Monday to Friday, we will train together in the morning and play in the afternoon. On Wednesday afternoon, we will go on an excursion together to explore Crete.

On Friday after the final and the award ceremony of our camp tournament we spend a nice last evening with the other camp participants. We'll meet in the beach bar, soak up the nightlife and head home for good on Saturday or Sunday.

You can play on the courts throughout your stay.

The journey to the camp is not included with us, but Crete is well connected to many European airports. The two airports on the island are Heraklion (HER) and Chania (CHA). If you cannot find a direct flight, there are still many options with a stopover, e.g. in Athens.

Plakias is 114 km from Heraklion airport and 97 km from Chania airport. The best, most convenient and usually cheapest way to get from the airport to Plakias is to rent a car. It is also the most flexible way to get around.

If you prefer to take a cab, the fare is about €120 and the journey takes aprox. 100 minutes. A cheaper but more time-consuming option is to take a bus to Rethymnon, where you change to a bus to Plakias. In bad weather, the journey can take up to half a day.
